ITS THE FALL SEASON? SO
SOON!
Make fall time another special time for you and your children. Eat together at the dinner table, turn off the television for reading, take an evening stroll around your neighborhood, put together a puzzle, or just write in your journal. Our children are our most precious commodity and we must treat them as such. I remember, (so not long ago) those special moments with my mother and especially at dinnertime at the table. When she would pick us up she asked about our day and what we had for lunch. Today, I do the same with my daughter. Now, she is asking me! In October, we will have a healthy cooking demonstration for us to give more thought to what we eat and prepare for our children. I hope you will plan to attend. As single mothers, we carry a huge burden, but yet we continue to give. When you have those moments and feel there is no light at the end of the tunnel just think of the single mother that lives in New Orleans, Louisiana; Biloxi Mississippi; and Mobile, Alabama. We are very fortunate. Just a reminder, November is our community service month. Please consider doing something for the victims of Katrina and especially the families relocated to Denver/Aurora areas. The Holiday Season is right around the corner and for some it can become a huge financial burden. This is the time to prepare and plan early. Next year consider opening a holiday fund at local bank or credit union, where you are able to contribute a small amount of money each month. If your funds are limited, but you have creative skills, think about doing something for your family and friends that they will be able to enjoy for years. Become your own business owner and sell some of these great items to make extra cash. Send holiday greeting cards instead of trying to purchase gifts for everyone. Invite folks over for brunch and holiday karaoke. The holiday season should never wipe you out of cash when you plan ahead. Many blessing!
