“Expectations”
July/August 2007
My minister,
Ian Nickerson preached about us as members to have “Great Expectations”
for ourselves as Christians and with our personal lives. He challenged us
to not except the norm or the standard, but reach higher and expect more
of one another.
As single working mothers we are so busy with the hustle and bustle of
life and raising our children that we do not have much time to really sit
back, reflect, and encourage great expectations of ourselves. If you have
a passion, dreams – pursue them to the best of your ability and expect
great returns. Don’t worry if it may seem as something minor or major to
someone else, it is what you deem as purposeful in your life.
Summer time is a wonderful and joyous season to do things you may have put
off from earlier this year. After work, make some sandwiches, grab some
fresh fruit, and head to the nearest park for dinner. Pop your own
popcorn, bring a blanket and catch one of the FREE movies being offered in
the Denver metro area.
Even better, we have some of the best local bands in the country and they
are playing at a park or venue near you. This is yet another opportunity
for you and your family to enjoy the fantastic days of summer!
